"Life is too short to read crap."
That may be true, but life's not too short to write crap. As Day One of NaNoWriMo 2004 comes to a close, I have written 1,896 words. Of these, I think I like about 17, or maybe 23. But of course, as the Nano site points out, that is hardly the point.
No, I won't tell you what it's about, and don't expect to see excerpts posted here anytime soon (like, ever). It's sprawly and hackneyed and inconsistent in tone, but it's all mine and (almost) 1,900 words more than I had written yesterday.
Now I'm going to go to bed and take my crossword with me, because the only words I want to write for the rest of the evening are broken up into little white squares.
