A strange, if not altogether expected, result of all this German spam I have been receiving is that the music of Die Zauberflote is stuck in my head. Even if nowhere in Herr Mozart and Herr Schikeneder's libretto does it say, "Im Gegensatz zu der offiziellen Aussage der Nuernberger Polizei" -- i.e., "Contrary to the official statement of the Nuernberger police."
I also had a dream last night in which I lambasted someone for claiming that the writing of Die Zauberflote made Der Schauspieldirektor possible -- after all, everyone knows that Der Schauspieldirektor was written five entire years before. (Don't they?)
Amazing what lurks in the subconscious mind. Soon, no doubt, I'll be dreaming of The Magic Flute, with all the parts played by Masonic German peace officers who are hunting down a group of female spammers that sing opera.
